I am honored to sit on the board of Earplay, the leading new music ensemble in the San Francisco Bay Area for over 30 years. I proudly co-founded the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Committee, creating Earplay’s first ever BIPOC Composer Competition which will be announced in May 2022.
I have also been an ongoing supporter of and content contributor to Career Girls, an online platform that provides role models and information for young girls seeking examples of and connection with women who are successful in their own careers.
In addition to the wonderful organizations mentioned above, I have served as a panelist for several years in assisting the Chicana/Latina Foundation in their selection of young Latinx women for college scholarships.
Most recently, I served as a panelist for Opera America’s Discovery Grant for Women Composers, which supports the work of women opera composers of all ages.
Finally, my volunteer work includes working with non-binary, trans and intersex teens during the Gender Spectrum Conference in Berkeley, California, as well as sitting on the panel of Theatre Bay Area’s CA$H Grants, awarding local playwrights and librettists funds to develop their work.
